B R I G I T T E

Adding creativity to life while being mom to my three sons

Let's share ideas, stories and ways to make a difference. Also, this site is a way to keep in touch with Turk Tackles release! (Available on Amazon and B&N)

Home: Welcome

Brigitte here!

Anyone who knows me, I love to connect and be creative! I was blessed with a big heart and I find ways to try and share it.

For those who are new, I am always looking for ways to make a difference in this world. I believe in working hard and tell everyone to travel and see this world. In my current timeframe of life, I am now a mom of 3 young boys (at one point in time it was 3 kiddos age 4 and under!) Now they are age 5, 3 and 11 months! We are busy but still looking to make a difference!

Traveling

Always find an excuse to explore this world.

You are here for a reason, make it count.

TRAVELHOLIC

This world is amazing. Traveling for years has been a highlight of my life, My wanderlust is taking a hiatus (for good reasons though - I'm taking care of boys with curious hearts, growing minds and with tiny fingers and toes). There was a decade+ that I worked 2-3 jobs (I've even completed a few 17-20 hours shift(s) while running from one job to another) so that I could have the funds to go globetrotting. I also enjoyed exploring local as well (I am a New England girl and the coast is my happy place). I'm big on education but I also feel that learning comes in many different forms and traveling has brought me some of my favorite lessons learned in life. In this lifetime, you could find me always working hard, my toes in the sand, sitting on edges of cliffs, sky diving/bungee jumping, scuba diving (Great Barrier Reef days!), sitting at the top of the world (literally - Burj Khalifa I see you!), ice cream tasting specialist, finding lighthouses, shop til I drop (those are the old days for now), longest dog walks ever, day trips, solo trips, best friend trips, girls trips (+ Ata trip), meeting family across the world trip. I am known for loving sunsets and sunrises. Hopefully I am on a boat. I've chased waterfalls (again, I mean literally not figuratively). I constantly pray for good health, to be the best parent I can be, and to raise strong brave boys. I stop to smell the flowers. I've always been a foodie and love trying new foods. I love to laugh. I love my family and friends. I could go on and on and on. I am that girl who will always say "take the photo". Somedays I feel I live for photography. I call it capturing a happy time and keeping it forever. The looking back brings me pure joy. The stories I share keep my heart happy. And one may think "wow, she's got it made or comes from money". That is far from the truth. I can tell you that hard work, saving, following my dreams, keeping my "chin up buttercup" (as my Dad would always say), is what gave me this life. I hope to share memories and stories some day in my writings.

Hard Work + Upcoming Works

My biggest job right now is being Mom. It's my favorite job so far. Fun fact- my first job was helping my big brother landscape - he had his own business and allowed me the opportunity. My 13 year old self wasn't made for it (although my efforts revealed the hard working person I was /would become)... and I'm sure the wooden fence I damaged while losing control of the mower (bigger than me) proved that. But that job showed what I was capable of and before I knew it I was able to work in child care, restaurant/retail industries and finally my 13+ years in the medical field. These jobs fueled my payments for my college education, traveling the world, helping make it possible for my mom to buy her very first home, start a retirement savings, owning vehicles to go "exploring" - I mean to get from point A to point B, have lots of fun (I do love live music /concerts, presents/gifting to others, celebrations, vacations etc.)... You get the drift.

My next chapter in life is including lots of mom hours, minimal corporate hours (and biggest perk - it's remote!), and following my dreams to publish a book! My rookie attempt is:

                       Turk Tackles

Maybe... just maybe... even my first attempt at writing the book Turk Tackles can continue my payroll while I am Mom for now.

My mom always worked hard, she was my role model for good work ethic. My dad always taught me to believe in myself. That's the other 50% of what made it all possible.

Be Yourself
"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment."
— Ralph Waldo Emerson

I do love this quote. BUT... I do have to say there are A LOT of amazing people out there that we want to be like and inspire to be like. But that's the art of being yourself. Someone else will find that gold and glitter you give off and he or she may want to be just like you. It's ok to want to be like those who you surround yourself with (like great family, friends, co-workers, neighbors etc.) so make sure they are good ones. Please don't lose track of who you are and who you were made to be. Being the diamond in the rough doesn't hurt and you'll forever be on someone's mind.

The B O Y S

My World

Louie . Mikey . Vinny

My little family is my biggest blessing.

IMG_5538_edited.jpg

Louie

He was born on one of the days that they say is a "family star" and that couldn't be further from the truth. The funniest, sweetest, smarty pants, athletic and most caring boy I could have ever imagined. Louie is going to go far in life with his charm and talents.

Mike

Michael. Mikey. Mike. Mighty Mike. Mike my love. The "King". Michael in the middle. Michael is one of what they call the "lucky" few. Born with Down syndrome /Trisomy 21 and Hirschsprung's disease, he has had quite the "obstacles" and even as an infant, he goes through his challenges with a smile. He is pure love I tell him. He is a true spirit and soul that this world needs more of.

Vinny

Newest addition to the family!

Vinny David - name is "conquer, conquer". He has conquered my sleep for sure by being Vinny velcro. But oddly enough, the lack of sleep and long nights is what brought me here and gave me the opportunity to create Turk Tackles. He has taught me "slow down Mom" and absolutely loves his Big Bros.

Finding my new way

While I navigate this time of life, raising my favorite little humans ever.... I don't want to lecture anyone and tell anyone what to do. But at the same time, I want to share what I've learned and I do want to say:

Have all the babies, if you can. It's one way life shows blessings. You'll find happiness you didn't know existed. Those cute little humans with tiny toes have a way of teaching lessons you didn't already know.

Carpe diem! Go outside. Take that trip. Explore. Go on that date. Love and be loved. Love a lot and say it and mean it. Don't take things for granted. Gratitude is key. Be and do your best. The Universe listens. God and Jesus love you. Exercise. Rest. Eat well. Laugh often. Have integrity. If you're lucky enough to be a goof, show it off. Feel the sun's warmth. Have your ducks in a row and plan ahead. Don't miss the event because you snoozed and didn't book in advance (mom lessons). Call a friend. Learn about manifesting. Go for a walk and listen to the birds. Give the benefit of the doubt - there's often more to the story than you know. "Don't s*** on the ones you love" as my dad told me one of the many times he was in the hospital. Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself or someone you love. Even if it's hard. Love your family and close friends. They're with you for a reason. Do an act of kindness. Maybe it will end there OR maybe it will cause the domino effect. Worry less. Trust more. Believe in the good. Don't dwell on the shoulda woulda coulda. Turn it into "that was me! I did this! Look at the beautiful life I have". Invest /spend the time. Time spent together is most important. Be the voice and difference you want to see in this world. Figure it out. Write the story. Follow your dreams.

Always try! Overcome any obstacles that may arise. "Tu Ta".

With love,

Brigitte
